About

Françoise Lacroix

Françoise Lacroix is a lens-based artist, who takes inspiration from the exploration, occupation and interaction with ‘place’. Her work invents a dialogue, to explore, transform and re-invent the notion of emplacement and how our position reforms that place. Lacroix’s work uses space rather than depicts it, challenging perceptions of the ordinary by representing it in an unfamiliar and distinctive way.

Born in West Wales, of French/English parentage, she currently lives in South Oxfordshire. She studied as an undergraduate at Central St. Martins College of Art, London, going on to graduate with a Master's degree in photography from the Royal College of Art, London, during which time she was selected for a six week residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris.

Françoise has exhibited in the UK and internationally with exhibitions at The Clerk’s House London (solo show), the Cité Internationale des Arts Paris, The Poznanski Factory, Poland, OXO Tower London, Arnolfini Bristol, The Dali Gallery London, Lauderdale House Society London, Jago Gallery London and Lethaby Gallery London.
